Might a conversion to the cooperative model support [or hinder] a social enterprise’s scaling and mission alignment? What shifts might be involved in operations, revenue model and governance? What about group culture & individuals’ power, status and personal responsibility for this conversion to succeed?
It's wise to know what may lie ahead before everyone is involved. Pairing research, interviews, and scenario work, I worked with the client to untangle the personal, group, legal and organizational shifts they would lead the group through on the road to conversion, to ultimately determine whether [or not] distributing decision making and ownership would leave the group stronger and better equipped for the growth that lies ahead.
